We’ve really enjoyed working with the South Manchester Down Syndrome Support Group to rename and rebrand their charity.
They’re an amazing and passionate, member-led charity for individuals with Down’s syndrome, as well as their parents, caregivers and professionals. They support people in a variety of ways from diagnosis through to adulthood.
They really wanted to update their name and look to reflect who they are now. After working with them to clarify their Vision, Purpose, Values and audiences, I brought in Lucy Jackman from Comma Sense, to come up with some excellent name and strapline options, define their positioning statement and produce a suite of key messages. They decided on the name Down’s Syndrome Manchester to ensure they were communicating clearly what they do and the strapline ‘Together we thrive’ which really epitomises the way they work with families to ensure everyone is thriving.
Then I worked with Emily Gorham to develop a look and feel which really brings to life the vibrant community they are. It can flex to give reassurance and positivity to the parents of newly diagnosed children as well as communicating their expertise to the professionals and partners they work closely with. The brand guidelines are thing of beauty too!
Finally the team at Wade Digital have put together a great website holding page, while the new website is in progress.
We provided the Down’s Syndrome Manchester team with everything they needed for a successful launch – from hoodies and banners to canva templates and leaflets. It all went down very well at the AGM last week!
Some kind words from their CEO, Esther:
‘Jo and Emily have been fantastic to work alongside. A small charity, we were anxious about investing in a re-brand as we don’t have the skills in house. Jo has been brilliant with us. Incredibly clear, well informed, and experienced and a clear expert in her field and the charity sector. Her and Emily listened intently to what we wanted, who we were and what we are trying to achieve. They came back with ideas that had captured us and were so clear, encouraging, and supportive at each stage.
This new brand will help us become more visible so we can support more people with Down’s syndrome and their families. We are incredibly excited for the future of Down’s Syndrome Manchester.’
