Henshaws, the charity that supports people living with sight loss, needed some invitations for a special awards event. Like most charities the budget was tight but they wanted something that would create impact. Ideally they wanted to incorporate braille, but for only 200 invitations it proved too expensive.
The theme was ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ so we got creative and pulled together print quotes for cut out hats and pop-up cards. They were all still outside of the budget so we had another think. The big advantage was that there were only 200 which meant that we could have an element of hand-finishing which was free!
Simple A5 invitations, printed on ice white card made an impact without much of a dent in the budget. Braille on paper was too expensive but by thinking outside of the box we realised that plastic cards were much more cost effective. This enabled us to include a tactile, removable invitation which people could bring along and slotted into the larger card by a hand-cut slit which it fit into perfectly.
The client and their recipients are so pleased with them, and I must admit we are too! Creativity can cost very little. Contact us for your next project which demands a creative twist!
