The Blackden Trust is a remarkable organisation, so we were naturally delighted when they approached us to help them refresh their brand, and to create a new website.
Jo and Nicki set off for the first meeting at Blackden itself, a magical living museum, which remains the home of the author Alan Garner and his family to this day. They were lucky enough to be given a guided tour of the property, and as a result, came away inspired from somewhere so steeped in history.
For the logo refresh, we kept it simple and retained the quatrefoil which is synonymous with Blackden and it’s history. We updated the font and created a new colour palette influenced by the stunning house, garden and surroundings at Blackden. This was rolled out across simple printed leaflets, designed in a format easy to update in the future.
The new website needed to feel both immersive and interactive, to highlight the workshops and sessions the organisation run for the community and with educational establishments from around Cheshire, but to also highlight the hundreds of amazing artefacts found at the site over hundreds of years.
The finished result has enabled The Blackden Trust to succeed in its aim to preserve, explore and share, a very special piece of history.
